Viet Anh Club
Established over three years ago, the Viet-Anh Club is a gathering for passionate lovers of artistic photography.
During the past three years, the Club has organized several major
exhibitions, one of which attracted and won international accolade and
recognition. The August 2004 exhibition spotlighted the true essence of
the Club, highlighting various characteristics which make the club
unique. This exhibit was a forum to build a bridge with the goal of
enabling and fostering the support of well-known professional
photographers.
In order to share experiences and foster guidance to fellow
photographers, the Club organized and launched several photography
classes. This synergistic sharing experience
in turn led to the publication of three photography books. The purpose
of these books is not only to stimulate and to spark interest in
photography as an art, but also to bring some small token of happiness,
to alleviate daily hardships, and to provide an artistic oasis for
photography affecionados.
In 2005, the Club took on various projects to publish selected
prints. One of these print, "Viet-Anh Club Pictorial Photography, 2005"
features twenty-four photographers of various age and background. Most
of the pictorials in this issue included landscapes, scenery, and
activities in Vietnam. All proceeds from the sale of this book will be
donated to help
handicap children in Vietnam through the non-profit organization Social
Assistance Program for Vietnam (SAP-VN).
With great appreciation, Viet-Anh Club Pictorial Photography is
also a dedication to photographer Trung Van Phi, founder and adviser of
the Viet-Anh Club. Mr. Trung is honored and recognized for his
continuous presence, providing the needed guidance and moral support to
fellow photographers. His unrelentless and selfless effort is the pulse
behind the Club.
On behalf of the group, I would like to extend my sincerest
appreciation to all the participating photographers, whose invaluable
contribution has made launching this project a success. Viet-Anh Club
hopes the book will come to you with the spirit of: "Let the Art soothe
the Pain".
