2020 Scholarship Announcement

SAP-VN Compassion Scholarship will be awarded to three high-school seniors or juniors who have demonstrated extraordinary compassion for others and the community. This scholarship is intended to encourage students to continue their service and to volunteer for SAP-VN.  Each recipient will receive $500 and a flexible, on-site or remote, 20-hour unpaid internship with SAP-VN.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be of Vietnamese ancestry and residing in the US
  • Current high-school senior or junior
  • An essay of up to 400 words about how you have demonstrated compassion
  • Unweighted GPA of 3.0 and above

SAP-VN Mobile Care Clinic Scholarship will sponsor three low-income current undergrad/graduate students or recent graduates to join the Mobile Care mission in Vietnam. The mission will take place from July 26 to July 31, 2020.  The estimated cost of the trip is about $1,500/person, including airfare, hotel, transportation, and meals. Recipients must raise their own funds which SAP-VN will match 1 to 1 for up to $1,000.  Recipients will be expected to help plan for the mission and to take leadership positions during the trip to organize and mobilize youth volunteers.

Requirements: 

  • Applicant must be of Vietnamese ancestry and residing in the US
  • Current undergrad/graduate student or recent graduate (within 2 years)
  • Demonstrate financial needs
  • Two essays of up to 400 words each about how you have demonstrated leadership and compassion

Not eligible to apply: 

  • Past recipients of SAP-VN scholarships
  • Immediate family members of SAP-VN Board of Directors or Scholarship Selection Committee members

Deadline for submissions will be Feb 15, 2020

Awards will be announced around March 15, 2020

2019 Scholarship Awards

This is the first year SAP-VN establishes Mobile Care and Compassion scholarships, with the intention to recognize, develop, and encourage students to continue to demonstrate compassion through their community service and to volunteer for SAP-VN.

The Compassion Scholarships were also in memory of our board members, chị Long Trâm-Anh, anh Võ Văn Đạt, and anh Huỳnh Phước Đương.

We were very pleased to receive a number of exceptional applicants, which made it a very challenging task for the selection committees.  All applicants have demonstrated good leadership, impressive lists of community service, and extraordinary compassion for others.

And it is with great pleasure that we introduce to you our 2019 scholarship winners:

Mobile Care Scholarship:
