Free Mobile Health Care

SAP-VN’s yearly Free Mobile Health Care Project started in 1994. Since then, the Free Mobile Health Care Project has provided health and dental care to many poor villagers in Vietnam.

Mobile Care (MC) Mission Statement:

“To improve healthcare in remote Vietnam by delivering medical services and equipment, teaching preventive care education alongside local providers, and cultivating the next generation of philanthropic youth leaders.”

MC Description:

SAP-VN’s MC Mission has 4 main goals:

1. Deliver accessible, high-quality healthcare services directly to underserved individuals and families in remote areas of Vietnam.
2. Sponsor higher level of care treatments and operations through our Post-Mobile Care program.
3. Collaborate with local healthcare providers to educate patients on the benefit of routine check-ups and preventive care.
4. Develop team building, leadership, and the spirit of volunteerism in our youth participants.

SAP-VN’s MC consists of a week-long trip in July of each year.  We serve approximately 3,200 adults and children each trip.  Below is a list of the services provided:

1. Medical:
   1. Vital signs and wellness screening.
   2. Physical exams by Internal Medicine and Family Practice physicians.
   3. On-site specialist consultation: Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, and Pain Management.
2. Dental:
   1. Cleaning, extraction, filling, and root canal.
   2. Oral Hygiene education and training
3. Optometry:
   1. Vision checks
   2. Dispense prescription and non-prescription eyewear
   3. Eye pressure test
4. Pharmacy:
   1. Pharmacist consultation
   2. Dispense medications to treat chronic conditions
   3. Pass out Vitamins and medicated oil
5. Post Mobile-care:
   1. Follow-up care and treatment sponsored by SAP-VN for Heart surgery,

Orthopedic surgery, Cataract surgery, and more complicated Dental treatments.

In addition, the MC teams:

1. Distribute gifts to all patients
2. Award scholarships and bicycles to underserved students
3. Provide wheelchairs and crutches for those who are handicapped
